Instructions to the Arenberg Theatre, Antwerp, and to the FEATS Hotels.

1. From Brussels (the South):

Approach Antwerp on the E19 motorway. Go through the Craeybeckxtunnel, stay in the far left lane direction Centrum. Continue straight on, follow the road round to the right then left, around the Koning Albertpark (greenery). Continue straight on; you are now in the Mechelsesteenweg and there are tram rails in the centre of the road. (see below …)

2. From Breda (the North):

Approach Antwerp on the E19 motorway, which becomes the R1 or Antwerp Ring as it swings around Antwerp. Take Exit 4 [to Berchem, Mortsel] and at the top of the slip road turn right, direction Centrum. You are now on the Grotesteenweg and there are tram rails in the centre of the road. Continue straight on; after a while the road becomes the Mechelsesteenweg. (see below …)

3. From Hasselt / Eindhoven / Aken (the East):

Approach Antwerp on the E34 motorway. As you reach Antwerp and the end of the motorway, the road splits. Stay in the centre lane [signs say Gent and Brussels]; the road swings round to join the R1 or Antwerp Ring. Stay on the Ring in the right hand lane and leave it at Exit 4 [to Berchem, Mortsel]. At the top of the slip road turn right, direction Centrum. You are now on the Grotesteenweg and there are tram rails in the centre of the road. Continue straight on; after a while the road becomes the Mechelsesteenweg. (see below …)

(… and then:)

Continue along the Mechelsesteenweg and just before the Lei, turn right at the “Extensa Building” following the temporary “centrum” signs into Van Breestraat which leads into the Rubenslei with the Stadspark on your right. Continue to traffic lights …

(for the Theatre and the Theatre Hotel):

turn left into Maria Therasalei. At next lights straight across the Britselei turning left straight away. Continue until Nationale Bank and turn right at lights into Leopoldstraat. Continue up the Leopoldstraat, now with shops on your right, and first the St.Elisabeth Hospital, then the ancient Herb Garden, on your left. (The small cul-de-sac opposite the end of the Herb Garden is the Willem Tellstraat, leading to the back, stage door entrance to the theatre). Take the next turning right immediately after this into the Arenbergstraat. The Arenbergschouwburg (the FEATS theatre) is number 28.

Continue past the theatre and follow the road round to the right where there is a public parking (on your right hand side) - but this parking is only open from 8 am until 1 am (3 am on Saturday) and is closed on Sunday until 6 pm, and on Monday all day. An alternative is, when you turn into the Leopoldstraat, to take the first right into the H. Van Heurckstraat (one-way only) and use the parking garage in that street. Note: This parking is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but is only manned from midday up until 7 pm. You can enter the parking with your vehicle up until midnight; you can remove your car at any time by using your parking ticket to open the side door, and you then can drive out as the exit doors to the street will open automatically. You cannot put your car into the parking after midnight; the doors cannot be opened again from the outside until 7 am the next morning (by using your parking ticket).

(for the Eden Hotel):

and go straight over into the Quellinstraat. At the next traffic lights turn right, and right again into the Appelmanstraat which almost immediately becomes the Lange Herentalsestraat. The Eden Hotel is at numbers 25-27 Lange Herentalsestraat; the parking is almost next door and very visible.
